Buy Certified African Gold in Dubai
Assayed East African gold bars, nuggets and dust for Dubai jewellers, bullion traders and investors, exported from Nairobi with full documentation and insured delivery to the UAE.
Dubai is one of the busiest gold trading centres in the world, and the UAE is one of the main destinations for gold exported from Africa. Metal arriving in the emirate is traded, refined, turned into jewellery and re-exported, so buyers here range from small workshops in the Deira Gold Souk to bullion trading companies in the DMCC free zone and private investors buying physical metal.
YNM Gold Sellers has traded East African gold from Nairobi, Kenya since 2009. For Dubai buyers we supply 99.99% gold bars in 1 oz (31.1 g troy) and 100 g, natural 22–23K nuggets and 99.9% gold dust. Every lot ships with an independent third-party assay certificate, full chain-of-custody records and Kenyan export documentation, under fully insured international delivery. That paperwork matters as much as the metal, because UAE refiners and dealers now apply formal due diligence to gold of African origin.

Which Gold Suits Buyers in Dubai (UAE)
Jewellery manufacturers and Gold Souk workshops
At 99.9% purity, dust gives a workshop a clean base to alloy to 18K, 21K or 22K in-house. It melts quickly and evenly, so it suits casting and chain production where the workshop controls the final karat.

Standard 1 oz and 100 g bars at 99.99% purity are easy to weigh, verify and resell. Each bar comes with an independent assay certificate, which shortens the checks a trading desk has to run before it lists the stock.

Natural 22–23K nuggets are typical refinery feedstock. The assay certificate and chain-of-custody file give the refiner the origin evidence its due-diligence process asks for before it accepts African material.
View Gold Nuggets →Why Dubai is a natural market for East African gold
Dubai’s gold trade has three layers. Retail and wholesale jewellery trading is concentrated in and around the Gold Souk in Deira. Bullion, refining and trade finance companies cluster in the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), a free zone set up to host commodity businesses. Refineries in the UAE then turn imported doré, nuggets and scrap into bars that are traded regionally and internationally.
For bars, the market follows recognised delivery standards. DMCC maintains the Dubai Good Delivery standard, and the UAE has introduced a federal UAE Good Delivery standard for refiners. Bars from refiners outside these lists still trade in Dubai, but buyers usually check them more carefully. That is why we send an independent assay certificate with every lot rather than relying on a stamp alone.
East Africa sits close to the UAE, and trade links between Nairobi, Kampala, Dar es Salaam and Dubai go back a long way. For a Dubai buyer, sourcing directly from an established Kenyan exporter removes intermediaries. You deal with the party that assays, documents and ships the metal.
VAT on gold in the UAE: investment-grade vs jewellery
The UAE charges VAT at a standard rate of 5%. Investment-grade gold, meaning gold of 99% purity or higher in a form tradable on global bullion markets, is zero-rated, which is where the 0% figure for Dubai comes from. Our 99.99% bars are the product most likely to fall into that category.
Jewellery and gold below investment purity are treated differently. Natural 22–23K nuggets are below 99% purity. Supplies of gold between VAT-registered businesses in the UAE can also fall under a special reverse-charge mechanism. Treatment depends on the product, its purity and who is buying, so confirm your position with a UAE tax adviser before you order.
Import documents and due diligence for gold entering the UAE
UAE dealers and refiners operate under anti-money-laundering rules and responsible-sourcing guidance, and gold of African origin gets particular attention. In practice, a UAE counterparty will expect to see where the gold came from, who handled it and that it left the exporting country legally.
For each shipment we prepare the documents below, and our compliance documentation page explains our licences and checks in more detail.
- Commercial invoice and packing list with weights and purity
- Independent third-party assay certificate
- Certificate of origin
- Kenyan export permit and export declaration
- Chain-of-custody records from source to export
- Insurance certificate and air waybill for the insured shipment
Premiums and pricing for Dubai buyers
Dubai is a competitive, high-volume market, and typical premiums on bullion there run at about 1 to 3% over spot. Jewellery adds making charges on top. Because buyers here compare prices daily, we quote every order individually from the current spot price, the purity shown on the assay and the quantity, rather than publishing a fixed list price.
Dubai is first and foremost a trading and fabrication hub. If your plan is to hold bars in a vault for many years rather than trade or manufacture with them, it is worth comparing Dubai with buying gold in the UK, where London’s vaults and bullion market are built around holding gold.
How a Dubai purchase with YNM works
Most Dubai enquiries reach us by WhatsApp or phone. From there the process is the same for a single 100 g bar or a larger lot of dust:
- Tell us the product, purity and quantity, and whether you are buying for trade, manufacture or investment
- We send a written quote linked to the current spot price
- The lot is independently assayed and the certificate is shared with you
- We prepare the Kenyan export documentation and chain-of-custody file
- The gold ships under full insurance to the agreed point in the UAE, where your customs broker clears it
Buying Gold in Dubai (UAE): FAQ
How is the price of gold for Dubai buyers calculated?+
Every order is quoted individually. We start from the international spot price, adjust for the assayed purity and weight, and apply a premium that depends on the product and the quantity. You can follow the live gold price to see where the market is before you request a quote.
Is gold VAT-free in Dubai?+
Investment-grade gold (99% purity or higher, in a form tradable on bullion markets) is zero-rated for VAT in the UAE. Jewellery and lower-purity gold are treated differently, so check how your purchase will be classified with a UAE tax adviser.
What documents come with gold shipped to the UAE?+
Each shipment includes a commercial invoice, packing list, independent assay certificate, certificate of origin, Kenyan export permit and declaration, chain-of-custody records and insurance documents. Import rules can change, so confirm the current UAE requirements with a local customs broker before shipping.
Which YNM product suits a Dubai jewellery workshop?+
Most workshops choose 99.9% gold dust, because it can be alloyed to 18K, 21K or 22K in-house. Workshops that buy finished-purity metal for resale or casting often choose 99.99% bars instead.
Can I verify the gold after it arrives in Dubai?+
Yes. Every lot comes with an independent third-party assay certificate, and you are welcome to have the gold re-tested by a laboratory or refiner in the UAE when it arrives.
